The day of your session! Since we’ll have everything planned ahead of time, all you have to do is have fun, enjoy every moment and be yourselves.

For regular portrait sessions, you'll receive your gallery 7 days after the session. You can download all your photos for no extra cost and share them with your loved ones. If you decide to print them, please share! I love seeing my work become physical.

FAQ
What kind of editing do you do to the photos?
I start with color, lighting, and cropping in Lightroom. Then, if necessary, I move to Photoshop to edit background items, skin texture, and other non-aesthetic parts of the photo that may appear. (That bug that flew in the frame, a pulled string or dirt on an outfit, etc)
If there is something specific that you want me or don’t want me to edit, PLEASE let me know! However, I will not do extreme editing such as changing eye/skin/hair color, removing the background, or altering bodies/weight.
I also include a few black & white copies of edits where I see artistically fit. These are usually the more dramatic, candid style snapshots. I love a good, grainy black and white edit!!
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a shoot?
If you need to cancel the shoot, your retainer fee will not be refunded. If you reschedule, your retainer fee will go towards the cost of the rescheduled shoot. Please keep me updated on your scheduling concerns so we can figure something out as soon as possible! I am also subject to rescheduling the shoot due to illness or bad weather so that the quality of your photos is their absolute best.
How are the images delivered?
You will receive your photos via a Pixieset album so you can enjoy and download the photos at full quality.
How does your time limit work?
If you want to request to extend the session time, as long as my schedule allows I would love to take more photos! The extra fee will be applied to the final payment, which is due the day of the session.
Where can I use your images?
Anywhere! I encourage you to use and post them as much as you would like! As long as you are not reselling my images, I give full permission for you to use them on social media, cards, or announcements through my print release. If you do use my photos online, I require that you credit me by using my full name (Marlena Nicole Ashby) and/or by tagging my website and Instagram handle (@memoriesbymarlenallc). This helps me acquire new clients, so please don’t forget this important step!
If you do use my photos for cards or announcements, I would love to see them! Feel free to send me an image of them, as seeing my photos used makes my day!
Can I bring my pet?
Of COURSE!! I love animals, big or small, just let me know in advance!! :-)
How long does it take you to edit photos?
You will have your final edited photos 5-7 days after the session.
Can we have access to the RAW images?
Unfortunately, even though I will show you some images during the session so you can see what I’m capturing, I do not allow my clients to have access to RAW, unedited images. The way I edit is a HUGE part of my artistic process, and I don’t want that to be lost! I promise the wait for editing is worth it!
How long is my gallery available to view and download?
Your Google Photos gallery will be available for download for 30 days. After that, I have to remove the gallery from my Google account to make room for my other galleries. Extensions are free and can be requested if you need them!
Are there extra fees for travel?
Depending on the package you have chosen, there are no extra fees for driving time. If your location requires longer driving times (ex. > 45 minutes from where I am located), I may raise the fee to cover gas and driving time.
Will my images be posted online?
I love to post as many of my images online as possible to show y’all off! But, I will only share them with your consent. If you’d like to keep your gallery private, please let me know.
If there are only a few photos you’d be okay with me sharing, you can favorite them inside your gallery for me to see!
