End of Life Sessions
This guide is filled with helpful information for those very intimate pet sessions that are described as “end-of-life” sessions. These are pets who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and/or are over the age of 10. I offer these sessions at no cost to the owners simply because as a pet owner myself, I have unfortunately experienced the loss of many animals and know the financial and emotional stress of medical illnesses and old age.
I believe that pets are not just animals, but family members, and since their time on this earth is short, they deserve to be beautifully documented and remembered. I’m so honored that you’re here reading this and thankful to have your trust put in me to document this time. Let’s get started.

What to Expect:
These sessions are designed to be whatever you want them to be. Whether it’s snapshots of your pet in your home or backyard, getting their paw imprinted in stone or ink, or walking around their favorite park with you, I want them to be their most comfortable. You can choose to be included in the photos from these sessions or not, it’s totally up to you. These can understandably be very emotional sessions, so please let me know what you are and aren’t comfortable with during your session.
During this photoshoot, I want to capture your pet being comfortable, playing in the backyard, resting on their bed, eating their favorite treats, etc. I DON’T want to force your pet to be uncomfortable during this time (posing, moving/walking when it’s too difficult for them, driving to a location when they hate car rides, etc.)
I guarantee the session to last at least 30 minutes, but am flexible if you want more or less time. The entire session will take place at only one location.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will I get from this session?
Depending on how long your session lasts, you will get around 20 or more edited photos. These will include color and black and white images in a digital gallery.
How do you edit the photos?
Typically, I edit tear stains, drool, dirt, small background object removal, and leash removal in certain photos. I will not remove things that make your pet who they are, such as gray hair, patchy hair, lazy eyes, glaucoma, etc. Please communicate any editing desires you have!
My pet is not very mobile. Will you come to our home for photos?
Of course. I understand that some illnesses really take a toll on an animal’s mobility. I always prefer natural outdoor lighting since it is the most flattering, but I am willing to photograph inside your home as well. If you have a front or backyard that you are comfortable using, this is great as well.
What kinds of pets are included in these sessions?
I grew up with multiple birds, hamsters, fish, dogs, and cats, so I understand that ALL animals are pets and are equally precious. I’ve never had my own snake, but I like them too! I’m more than happy to capture any animal.
How long do these sessions last?
I guarantee at least 30 minutes of shooting. If you need more or less time, please let me know! I’m happy to accommodate.
What time of day is best for photos?
Typically, I reccommend the early morning or late afternoon before sunset for photos. But this also depends on how your pet is. If they’re very sleepy and lazy in the morning and more active mid-day, then it’s probably best to come when they’re going to be most comfortable around new people. However you want them to be pictured during daylight is best overall.
What if it rains on the day of our outdoor session?
Based on your and your pet’s comfortability, I am willing to photograph rain or shine. If rain makes your pet uncomfortable, I promise to reschedule at my earliest convenience. I understand that in these circumstances, sometimes time is of the essence.
Can I see a full gallery of one of these sessions?
Absolutely! Just ask and I’ll be happy to send one over.
